The National Museum Collection Centre in Granton houses millions of fascinating objects and specimens from the National Museums of Scotland’s collection.

A place for research, training and teaching, the Centre cares for a dizzying array of items from ancient papyrus and textiles to motorbikes and whalebones. In addition to conserving these previous objects, the Collection Centre is also the focal point for the National Museum of Scotland’s programme of digitisation, meaning the public can view thousands of images and videos of the collection online.

The Collection Centre welcomes visitors on specified dates throughout the year to tour their extensive collection and learn about how the objects within it are used to aid international research. Please visit the centre’s website for more information.
