Change can already be seen at Granton Waterfront with the ongoing restoration of the Granton Gasholder, the recent renovation of Granton Station and new housing at Granton Station View and Western Villages.
Working in partnership with Cruden Group, we are now well underway with Phase 1 of the wider regeneration. This stage considered the local knowledge and comments from the public following consultation undertaken during the summer 2023 and has developed it into inspiring layouts and designs.
847 net zero homes for sale and rent, 46% of which are affordable (214 for social rent & 173 for mid-market rent), 14 commercial units, key services such as the school will be delivered during this phase, alongside new and enhanced active travel routes and sustainable transport options. This phase will lay the foundations to connect the neighbourhood to its surrounding areas and continue the regeneration of Granton Waterfront.
Planning permission for Phase 1 was approved in November 2024. With a final business case approved by the Councils Finance and Resources Committee in November 2025 and will be considered by Full Council in December 2025. Construction of Phase 1 is expected to begin in early 2026 and be completed in 2033.
